The Power of Self-Awareness

One of the best ways to be effective is by being self-aware.

It is important that you build a self-awareness strategy for yourself. Becoming self aware is like turning a flashlight on yourself in a really dark room.

If you can't see, it is hard for you to know where you are going. It is easy to make mistakes and fall.

But when you practice self-awareness and become more present with yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, how you effect the people around you, you are able to walk with a clear direction and are able to serve people more effectively.

Self-awareness is summed up perfectly by the author Aldous Huxley when he says that it is:

"the dissipation of one's own ignorance concerning one's self."

Ignorance just refers to not knowing and not being consciously aware of oneself.

Without being aware of who you are, you are not able to grow. You must be self aware in order to progress and become stronger and more effective as a person.

Being self-aware is critical for you to constantly be making measurable moves forward.

Becoming self-aware means stepping back and judging yourself without ego. It is looking at a mirror and being honest with yourself. It is being honest about your strengths and weaknesses, what you have that makes you valuable, what makes you tick.

By constantly shining a flashlight on yourself, it will help you see what you struggle with.

Have you ever been in a room with a lot of people and there is one person in the room that everyone knows everyone secretly pities? Or there is one person that people do not go to for advice or help, because they are either too grandiose, or arrogant, or passive aggressive, but that person does not realize it? It is an unsaid problem that that person is unaware of.

That place of being completely unaware of how you effect people is a dangerous place to be in.

Being self-aware is constantly examining yourself so that you can know who you are and how well or how poorly you are doing something.

The worst place to be in is a place of ignorance about how you are negatively impacting others.

Say that you own a business and for months you have been getting the same complaint from clients. Think of going six months without anyone bringing forth that criticism and being completely unaware of the issue. Think of how detrimental your ignorance to how your clients are negatively being effected by your business is to you.

You need to make it a part of your strategy to be gaining feedback from people consistently in order to keep yourself aware of you and your practices and how they are impacting people. Self-awareness should be a top priority in order to be successful.

You are in a good place when every day you are examining who you are and challenging yourself to grow and become a more effective person.

Examine what it is you want to be, who it is you want to be perceived as, and how close you are to achieving your dreams and goals. Examine honestly where you are and work on growing and progressing in order to get yourself to a better place the next day.

It is a great place to be in to have awakened in the full knowledge of who you. The more self-aware you become the more impactful you will be.

Embrace self-awareness and make it a daily practice in your life.

We believe in you! Keep hustling hard, keep fighting forward, and do not let you are anyone else to stop you from being the best that you can be.
